Rules for Dream Team Championship

General information

The contest consists of 6 selection stages (Oestersund, Hochfilzen, Orsblie, Oberhof, Ruhpolding, Antholz ) and the final contest for the best players (Torino). Each of the first 6 stages is a separate competition, so you may join us at any of them. We'll divide all players into groups (just to be more comfortable to play). The number of groups depends on the whole number of players (maximum of 80 members in a group). 5 best players of each group for each stage will go for the final as well as 5 best for all the 6 selection stages (if not selected earlier). Those who were the champions of the previous season get their wild-cards and go to the final too. The winner of the final competition will get a special prize.

To register

To become a player you should register by filling the form (Nickname, Password, Country, City – !only for players from Russia!, e-mail (confidential information, only for the organizers of the contests)) You can register only once. We check IP-addresses of all players and immediately delete players that use the same IP. Please contact us if you learn that several people use the same computer.

Team-building

Each athlete has a “price”, calculated in points. The list of prices is published every time before a stage and is refreshed between the stages according to the real results of the athletes and their popularity among players /so the “prices” change – be attentive!/. Before each stage you get 600 points. Then you make a team of 6 biathletes (3 men and 3 women) for this stage. The team takes part in all races of the stage but for relays. In case you don’t make a new team, you may play with the old one, if it does not surpass the limit of xxx with new “prices”. In other case, you are considered DNS. You may also “buy” an athlete for 2 or 3 stages beforehand, but it will cost more. We wait for all your bets up to 10 A.M. CET (12 A.M. Moscow Time) the day of the race. You may also change your team before this time.

Results

The result of your team is counted after each race as the summary time for the best 4 members (2 men and 2 women) as it is done fore the mixed relay. If two of your men/ women are DNS, the team is considered DNS too. The winner is the player, with the minimum of time. The players from the 1st to the 30th places gain points according to the World Cup system. We announce the winner after each of the stages. As already said, the best five players of each group go for the final, during the Olympics.

Just fresh eye: !only for players from Russia! - звучит вызывающе. Пока не прочитал русский вариант, не понял, что это относится только к названию города в форме, а не к игроку. Is it correct?

Of course. Contest is international, but most of players are Russians and it will be better if they'll write their city.

“Dream Team Championship” (III edition) Regulations

General information

the contest consists of 6 selection stages (Oestersund, Hochfilzen, Osrblie, Oberhof, Ruhpolding, Pokljuka) and a final in Antholz to unite the best players. Each selective stage is a separate competition, so that you could enter the game at any stage conserving chances for victory. All players will be divided into 6 groups (A, B, C, D, E, F) To reach the final stage you’ll have to become 1st, 2nd or 3rd at any selective stage or to stay in the top 10 of the group after all 6 selection stages. Besides, the last season champions and the team competition winners (the whole team) will receive wild cards from the contest organizers. Look below for the team competition rules. The winners and prize holders of the final competitions will receive prizes from Biathlon Fan Union. A separate “Grand Prix” competition will be held during the three after-WCHs World Cups.

Registration

To participate in the contest you must be registered in the Community. Fill in the registration form (ссылка) and do not forget to confirm it by e-mail. (If you’re already registered, you needn’t do it again).
Then you must register, filling in a special form in the “Registration” section, writing your Nickname, Password (the same that in the Community), Country and your e-mail (that will be available only to the organizers of the contest). The players, that took part in the contest last year will have to register in the contest once again because we’ve cleared our database. One person must not register under several Nicknames. We supervise all players’ IPs and we’ll delete multiregistrations. Please contact organizers of the contest if several people have to use one PC.

Forming your team

Before each stage you get 600 conventional units. You must form a team of 6 biathletes (3 men and 3 ladies) according to the “price list” edited each time before the beginning of a stage. You may not “buy” less than 6 athletes or less than 3 athletes of the same sex. The team starts at any competition of the WC, but for the relays. The “prices” are edited before each WC (depending on the athletes’ performance and popularity among players). In case you do not form a new team before the WC dead-line, you keep the team from the previous stage (if it fits the new prices) or DNS (if not). You may also buy athletes for more than one stage, but at higher prices: 110% price for 2 stages and 125% for 3 stages. The dead-line (when we stop receiving your teams) is 1 hour before the start of the first race of the current stage. You may also introduce changes in your team before the dead-line.

Results

The result of a team is formed after each race as the total time of the 4 best athletes (2 men and 2 ladies), similar to the mixed relay. In case, less than 2 athletes of the same sex finish the race, your team is DNF. The winner the player whose team’s time is the smallest. If two players have the same time, the winner is that, who’s spent fewer points on forming the team. If these parameters are equal, the players get the same position in the final standings and get the same WC points. Players from the top 30 receive points according to the World Cup regulations. After each stage we define the standings with best 3 players in which are qualified to the final stage in Antholz.

Team competition

The team consists of 6 people, united voluntarily according to the territory, nationality, same fan-club, etc. or united artificially according to the territory. Each team must have a captain who forms the team and sends the request by approbation of all its members. All players of the same team will be divided into different groups. The team result is the sum of the points of the captain (whatever his/her result is) and 3 best players of the team received in each particular single competition. For example:
1player - А group- 20 points
2 player(captain) - В group - 5 points
3 player - С group - 12 points
4 player - D group - 0 points
5 player - Е group - 7 points
6 player - F group - 15 points
The team result is (5(cap.)+20+15+12) = 52 points.
Participation in the team contest is voluntary, you may agree upon arranging a team in the Community.
The team competition is held before the World championships and includes 6 stages.

“Dream Team Championship” (IV edition) regulations

General information

The fan contest is held during the winter biathlon season and consists of 3 parts:
1. 6 qualifying stages before World Championships (Kontiolahti, Hochfilzen, Pokljuka, Oberhof, Ruhpolding, Antholz). Each stage is a separate competition, so that you could enter the game at any stage conserving chances to qualify for the World Championships (WCHs). All players will be divided into 6 groups (A, B, C, D, E, F) To qualify for the WCHs you’ll have to become 1st, 2nd or 3rd at any stage or to stay in the top 10 of the group after all 6 qualifying stages. Besides, the last season champions and the team competition winners (the whole team) will receive wild cards from the contest organizers. Look below for the team competition rules. After each race the top-30 participants gain World Cup points (according to the real existing World Cup scoring system).
After each World Cup the participants gain points for the World Cup Total Score according to their ranking within the group: 1 place – 1000 points, 2 place – 975 points, 3 place – 950 points and do on with a pace of 25 points.

2. The World Championships include 4 single races, that do not bring any points to the World Cup Total Score. The winners and prize holders of the final competitions will receive prizes from Biathlon Fan Union. After each race the top-30 participants gain points according to the real existing World Cup scoring system.
3. 3 final stages (post-WCHs^ Holmenkollen, Pyeongchang, Khanty-Mansiysk) All the participants are in the same group. The participants gain points for each race: 1 place – 150 points, 2 place – 146 points, 3 place – 143 points, and so on according to the Nations Cup scoring system. The winners and prize holders of the Total Score will receive prizes from Biathlon Fan Union and gain wild cards for the next WCHs at this contest.

Registration

You have a right to “sale” not more than 1 team member before a stage, taking into consideration, that you receive only a 85% of his or her original “price”.

Entry

Before each stage you must form a team entry of 6 biathletes (3 men and 3 ladies), whose total “price” does not exceed 1500 conventional units. You may not “buy” less than 6 athletes or less than 3 athletes of the same sex. The team starts at any competition of the WC, but for the relays. In case you do not form a new team before the WC dead-line, you keep the team from the previous stage. The dead-line (when we stop receiving your entries) is 1 hour before the start of the first race of the current stage. You may also introduce changes in your team before the dead-line. If you enter an athlete, who’s not present on the start list of the first race, he or she is automatically changed for the next Dream Team member of the same sex of lower price, if there is one in your Dream Team.

Results

We also discount bonus seconds equal to the number of points of each team member according to the Nations Cup scoring system. If these parameters are equal, the players get the same position in the final standings and get the same WC points.
